Front page updated and under construction again. This picture link directs you to DA which also has another link in the artist's notes taking you to the animated version. Bear with me on the animation, lol. It takes a minute to load.

Thanks, glad you like it. Giving drawing lessons online is kind of difficult, and I'm not exactly the type of person that should be giving art lessons. I can help provide tips and pointers wherever possible. Though the best experience is repeated practice.

You must have been practicing since birth Charlie!

I had another good look at the animation and there is so much going on that I only just now noticed the fire at the lower part and that is such a nice touch.

Wow. That animated version is epic. Specially the heat coming off of the maze. Just think his dress waves a bit slow compared to how fast the ash/dirt thingies go. But really looks epic, makes me want to do animation so bad.
Oh and on another note, your new avatar is raping my eyes.

Is it just me or I can't have the animation part playing? O_O I only see the fire embers move a couple of frames

That is ridiculously awesome.

Raven - I couldn't get the animation to start at all the first time. I found that refreshing the page after it fully loaded made it work properly.

Bah, not that long ago. And yes, there are's a few subtle little animations going on that might not be that apparent.

@Toms: That's a combination of my inexperience and how the numbers in AE works. The current speed is about as fast I could get it without it looking too fast. The coat tails were done maaaaaybe half-way through the animation while the ashes and debris were done at the very end.

All the flying stuff is animated through a different method using motion tweens. But unfortunately, AE's control over your animation speed is very very stupid. The object's speed automatically adjusts itself according to how long the animation is (8 seconds here). So fairly quickly.

From what I'm gathering, you don't really have control over the constant speed it moves. You can control how fast it starts or ends, but that off-sets a whole bunch of other stuff that will make your object literally jettison on or off-screen and then come to a screeching halt.

There are only a few flying bits that match the speed of the cloth. But those are the bizarre layers where I had to make them start moving at the end of the animation, and end when the animation started to make it look like an infinite loop.

"Oh and on another note, your new avatar is raping my eyes."

lolwut.

@Raven: Nah, it's not just you. The file is really big so it takes a lil' bit to load.

@V: Grassyass, glad you like it.

Here I was thinking your art couldn't possibly get more amazing. Please excuse my ignorance. The music goes really well with it, I think.

Also, your avatar... Is that Action Bastard from Shin-Chan? xD

I'm a fan of his "To Be a Man" dance.

Anyways, the full version of the animation should be re-uploaded sometime soon I hope to DA. Waiting on a reply from the help desk to replace the 16.5MB version with a 5MB better quality one.

Also, Hailfall's necro Shala is up next.

are you still looking for more characters to draw? I know you have a list of a few people on the front but I'd be honoured if you wanted to use my main character in some of your art :3
I could have some refrences arranged in any angle/position you want. Just let me know if you are still taking models

I actually might be switching one or two of the characters in the list. I'm not too sure at this point. But if I do, I'll switch the thread back to open and start taking character references.

Oooh, I'll have to keep a close eye on this thread then. :3 I'd love to have my character drawn too, but I wasn't around to enter back when you were picking characters for it.

I totally read that as "in a non-sexual, threatening kind of way". So, no sex but you'll hurt him bad if he doesn't draw your character?

Poor Charlie, already getting swamped by potential characters even though he hasn't decided on anything yet.
